Agent: Huerter day-to-day after hamstring MRI comes back clean originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea
The Kings and their fans received some good news regarding Kevin Huerter’s leg injury sustained against the Brooklyn Nets on Thursday.
Huerter’s agent, Mark Bartelstein of Priority Sports, told ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski on Friday that the shooting guard’s MRI on his right hamstring strain returned clean, and he’ll be day-to-day on return.
Huerter exited Thursday’s game at Barclays Center in the first quarter after falling to the ground on a missed layup attempt. Though he didn’t return to the Kings’ eventual 101-96 win, FOX40’s Sean Cunningham reported after the game that there was a feeling of “optimism and relief” that the injury wasn’t worse.
It turns out they were right, and the Kings certainly will hope to have Huerter’s sharp-shooting abilities back on the floor sooner rather than later.
Sacramento improved to 42-27 after its win over Brooklyn and owns the Western Conference’s No. 2 seed. In his first season with the Kings, Huerter is averaging 15.2 points on 48.9-percent shooting from the field, 41.0 percent from deep, with 3.2 rebounds and 3.0 assists per game.

The Kings will face the Washington Wizards on Saturday and the Utah Jazz next Monday in the final two games of their current four-game road trip, and Huerter’s presence will be extremely important as the team tries to hold onto second place across the season’s final stretch.
