Kim Kardashian’s style is on fire, despite the haters.
In the latest episode of “The Kardashians,” the reality star spoke out about the criticism she received from her ex-husband, Kanye West’s, “fickle” fans about one particular post-divorce outfit — but it turns out Ye was involved in her styling all along.
“Let me just say one thing about this flame outfit everyone wants to talk about,” she said in a post-credits confessional, referring to the wild black, yellow and red turtleneck outfit with fur-trimmed glasses she wore while meeting sisters Kourtney and Khloé for lunch during a scene on the episode.
“The internet destroyed me and was like, ‘Haha, this is what she gets not being with Kanye,’” she said. “‘Finally, one look she dresses herself, the Kanye outfits must have ran out.’”
Pausing, Kim revealed, “The tea is, this was one of the outfits he styled and picked out. So if you guys knew that and we were together you guys would think it was the coolest outfit in the world. Everyone is so f—king fickle.”
The sweater and skirt, worn with red Balenciaga “pantashoes,” had fans making comparisons to the superhero outfits worn in Disney’s “The Incredibles” when she sported it back in April, with one fan joking that “Edna Mode pulled this look for her.”
It should come as no surprise that Ye was responsible for the flame-themed outfit for those that know the rapper’s previous opinions on his ex-wife’s looks.
He’s famously overhauled the wardrobes of many a romantic partner over the years, and was so dedicated to managing Kardashian’s style that during the premiere episode of “The Kardashians,” Kim tells her sisters, “he wants to quit everything and dedicate his life to being my stylist.”
So great was the “Donda” rapper’s influence over her fashion that Kim said on the show’s first episode that she struggled with dressing herself after their split.
“Kanye has always dressed me, he’s always styled me,” the mom of four said, adding she would rather not think about what to wear and have “the outfits lined up in my room.”
Although the two have gone their separate ways both in style and in life, it seems like Kim is doing just fine on her own.
