Time for some Kloset Konfessions.
“The Kardashians,” which premieres on Hulu this week, kicks off with Kim Kardashian’s “SNL” hosting performance — and lots of talk of ex husband Kanye West.
While Kardashian reveals that West has gone to lengths to help her with her monologue and jokes, she also dropped another bomb: the “Famous” rapper is still obsessed with dressing her up.
While out to lunch with sisters Kourtney and Khloe, Kim reveals that Kanye “says he wants to quit everything and dedicate his life to being my stylist.”
“I think he should do a little music, a little Adidas designing, and then he can do that on the side,” quipped Khloé in response.
Perhaps West truly wanting to end his career to focus on Kim’s wardrobe is a slight exaggeration, but Kardashian goes on to tell the cameras more about Ye’s fashion tips over the years.
“Kanye has always dressed me, he’s always styled me,” she said in a confessional.
“In the early 2000s, he would literally just send me random emails with all these looks and what my style should be … and he’ll send me so many reference pictures so that’s always really been our thing. But there’s also a side of me that wants total independence, too,” she added.
While she mentions having more freedom, it sounds like Kardashian, 41, also doesn’t want to think too much about her wardrobe.
“I just want the outfits lined up in my room — I’m a robot. I will operate as such,” she told Kourtney and Khloé.
It shouldn’t come as a surprise that Ye was so involved with his wife’s wardrobe; the “Donda” musician has a long history of dressing his romantic partners.
Ex-girlfriend Amber Rose told Elle in 2009 that she would “pick out something and he’ll be like, ‘Babe, just … no.’ I’m more electric pink and bright yellow. And Kanye’s more like nude and bone.”
And of course, who can forget the time he surprised Julia Fox with “an entire hotel suite of clothes” from Diesel for their second date, or the five Birkins the Yeezy founder gifted to Fox and her friends on her 32nd birthday?
The Grammy winner also pulled the Birkin card for new muse Chaney Jones, who bears a striking resemblance to Kardashian.
It remains to be seen if West can juggle all of his styling duties with his other jobs now that Kardashian is legally single.
