When it comes to sneakers, oftentimes, the bolder, the better. British model Jourdan Dunn knows that well, as seen when she donned statement sneakers to JW Anderson’s fall 2023 fashion show during London Fashion Week.
On February 19, Dunn arrived at the JW Anderson runway show to see the brand’s latest designs wearing a sporty ensemble, a yellow sleeveless top, red joggers, and yellow-hued transparent sunglasses. However, the most eye-catching piece of her outfit was the Nike Air Force 1 Low x Ambush sneakers in Game Royal.

These bold and comfortable sneakers are part of the renowned Tokyo-based brand AMBUSH’s continued partnership with Nike. After bringing back the ’90s Nike Air Adjust Force, the two brands advance their relationship with Air Force 1 Lows. These shoes nod Japan’s obsession with trucks, cars, and motorcycles. They’re equipped with a reimagined Swoosh on the sides that extends past the heel, showing inspiration from pipes on one of these vehicles.
The Nike Air Force 1 Low comes in a blue hue called Game Royal and a Pine Green colorway that’s offered in men’s and women’s sizing. The shoe features a leather base, yellow touches that enhance the logos, and tumbled leather heel tabs debossed with Nike insignia. Additionally, this Nike walking shoe has plastic heel guards with tonal AMBUSH lettering, branded sole inserts, an exposed foam tongue, and co-branded lace locks.
Dunn’s choice of menswear-inspired sneakers is fitting for Anderson’s show. The gender fluid elements compliment Anderson’s unique aesthetic, which offers a modern interpretation of masculinity and femininity through thought-provoking silhouettes.
