PHILADELPHIA–The Philadelphia 76ers are continuing to find different ways to succeed on the offensive end despite having key pieces go in and out of their lineup. The Sixers are ranked 15th in the league in offensive rating which is pretty solid considering all of the injuries they have been dealing with.

The Sixers have been missing Tyrese Maxey since Nov. 18 due to a left foot fracture and the expectation is that he will return before Christmas. That means Philadelphia will finally be whole again on the floor and they would be welcoming back a legitimate 20 points per game scorer next to Joel Embiid and James Harden.

“He adds another element to our offense,” said Embiid. “He’s quick, one of the best shooters in the league, I really believe that he could go a season shooting 50% from 3 on 10 attempts a game. That’s how good of a shooter is.”

In 15 games, Maxey is averaging 22.9 points and he’s shooting 42.2% from deep. His ability to break down defenders and get to the basket is something that the Sixers have badly missed and they have also been missing his 3-point shooting which spaces the floor for the offense to accelerate and move forward.

His speed has also been missing. The Sixers rely so much on pace and being able to push the ball ahead of the floor and Maxey is a huge part of that effort on the offensive end.

“He also adds so much speed to our offense,” Embiid added. “Him having the ball, kicking ahead, and getting easy baskets. We don’t know when he’s gonna be back, but we’ll be excited to get him back.”
