It’s been an eventful few days in the NBA as the Eastern and Western Conference finals kicked off on Tuesday and Wednesday nights, preceded by the 2022 lottery. Chris Haynes is joined by Yahoo’s Vincent Goodwill to chat about the state of the league entering the association’s final four.
Before they get to any of that, they have to address the elephant in the room: the Phoenix Suns’ shocking and disappointing exit in the second round. The guys chat about what may have been Chris Paul’s last shot at a championship ring, how the mood in Phoenix was off before the game even started if Patrick Beverley’s comments about CP3 were fair or foul.
Next, they talk about Jimmy Butler’s 41-point performance in the Miami Heat’s 118-107 Tuesday night win over the Boston Celtics. Has Playoff Jimmy ascended to a new level? Is it possible he’s the best player remaining in the playoffs? Also, what’s the deal with Al Horford’s COVID diagnosis? Is there something the public doesn’t know about his vaccination status?
Closing out the show, the guys talk about the Orlando Magic winning the 1st pick in the 2022 NBA draft coming out of Tuesday night’s lottery, if Chet Holmgren is the pick for Orlando & what the Portland Trail Blazers should do with the seventh overall pick.
