Should we expect Jaylen Brown’s contract extension with the Boston Celtics to be finalized soon? Although he is technically not a free agent in his eligibility for a $295 million supermax extension, the negotiation process is ongoing, and Brown holds some leverage in the discussions.
The longer he delays signing the contract, the more nervous fans will become, but there have been multiple accounts of Brown and Boston being motivated to get a deal done, with the primary hold up to date being the finer details of the agreement and other moves on the Celtics’ docket. Until that is resolved, we await the Brown extension as the next likely major domino of the NBA’s 2023 offseason.
