LAS VEGAS — After the Brooklyn Nets took care of business on Sunday against the New York Knicks by winning 98-80. At one point, the Nets were leading by as many as 21 points in the contest and Brooklyn summer league coach Trevor Hendry gave a few reasons why.

“Armoni’s (Brooks) shooting, Jalen’s (Wilson) ability to do both (shooting and rebounding),” Hendry said after Brooklyn’s first win of the NBA2K24 summer league. Brooks had 21 points, including five made threes, and picked up three steals while Wilson had 18 points and eight rebounds in the exhibition. “He (Wilson) can rebound, he could push it, and on the offensive end, the decisions he made were great.”

In the dominant win, Hendry made sure to give one of the rookies on the squad some praise as well. “I thought Noah Clowney was great in the second half,” Hendry continued. “His communication on defense. We were trying to get on him to (be) down by the basket. We’re switching a lot and you’re gonna be off the ball. Can you navigate guys? Can you get guys in the right spots? I thought he was great. I thought he was great on both ends even though the scoring didn’t look like he had a great game. I thought he was he was the best half I’ve seen him play.”

Clowney did not have his best offensive game (eight points on 2-for-6 shooting from the field), but he impacted almost every other aspect of the game. He had seven rebounds, three assists, and two blocks in 25 minutes of play to show what he could do for the Nets next season.
