As the Knicks continue to piece together their 2023 Las Vegas Summer League Roster, rookie Jacob Toppin will not be part of it.

According to SNY NBA Insider Ian Begley, Toppin – the younger brother of the recently traded Obi Toppin – will not play in Las Vegas due to a minor injury.

A Kentucky product, Toppin was signed to a two-way deal shortly after the 2023 NBA Draft. A 6-foot-9, 206-pound forward, Toppin averaged 12.4 points and 6.8 rebounds for the Wildcats this past season after transferring from the University of Rhode Island.

The Knicks and Pacers agreed to a trade on Saturday that send Obi Toppin to Indiana for a pair of future second-round picks. By trading the elder Toppin, the Knicks opened up a spot in the rotation for new free agent addition Donte DiVincenzo.

The Knicks are scheduled to play five Summer League games in Vegas between July 7-17, starting on Saturday when they play the Philadelphia 76ers at 5:00 p.m.
