ISL 2022: Amey Ranawade Injury – Mumbai City FC has been hit with a major injury blow. Young defender Amey Ranawade has been ruled out for the entire of the ongoing ISL season. Amey Ranawade injured his knee in the semi-final clash against Mohammedan SC and has undergone successful knee surgery. The youngster will require around 7-9 months to recover to his fullest. The official statement from Mumbai City FC read, “Mumbai City can confirm that Amey Ranawade will miss the remainder of the 2022-23 Hero Indian Super League season. The 24-year-old defender suffered a knee injury in the semifinal of the 2022 Durand Cup against Mohammedan SC and has since undergone successful surgery.
Amey is currently recovering well and will continue his rehabilitation with the Club. We wish Amey a speedy recovery and hope to see him back in action soon.“

Knee injuries usually take time for a player to recover completely. Last season midfielder Rowlin Borges suffered an almost similar knee injury. As for Amey, it is most likely that he will miss the entirety of the ISL season while the Islanders are hoping that he recovers in time for the Super Cup.
