Is Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla in over his head as a first-year coach?

To be fair, Mazzulla has been better than anyone could have reasonably guessed given the chaos under which he began his tenure as an interim head coach. The move came in the wake of the Ime Udoka scandal and before the wave of injuries he was forced to deal with to kick off the season.

But he also makes a lot of minor but not unimportant mistakes by his own admission that, in the regular season, are eminently forgivable. But the postseason is a different beast altogether, and such errors might be the difference between advancing to the 2023 NBA Finals and going home early.

The hosts of the CLNS Media “Celtics Beat” podcast recently linked up with The Athletic’s Jared Weiss to talk over how they feel about Joe Mazzulla’s coaching and how he might fare in the postseason.

Take a look at the clip embedded above to hear what they had to say about the Celtics’ coaching situation heading into the playoffs.
