Rihanna and A$AP Rocky took over Las Vegas over the weekend as the couple helped PUMA promote their latest collection with F1. Today, the Bajan singer-songwriter unveiled the next chapter of her renewed FENTYxPUMA partnership: the Creeper Phatty.

Although Rihanna spent much of the last handful of years away from the sportswear world, she helped the German sportswear brand capture a pop-culture segment of the footwear market throughout the mid-2010s. Spearheaded by the PUMA Creeper, Rihanna’s FENTY partnership reimagined several classic PUMA designs through a fashion-forward lens. A platform sole helped bring newfound attention to the European company’s archive, making the 35-year-old one of the most visible influences in the world of sneakers.

The PUMA Creeper Phatty by FENTY features all of the beloved design cues from the partnership’s first foray. Soft suede covers the bulk of the model’s upper, setting the stage for contrasting FORMSTRIP branding. The Creeper’s signature exaggerated sole unit reprises its role, donning gum brown finishes in the process. As alluded to by the “Phatty” part of its name, the new silhouette includes more padding throughout the upper and inner-lining. The design choice is likely rooted in comfort and the Y2K trend that’s popularized chunky skate shoe aesthetics from the past.
