The Indiana Pacers may be interested in trading the No. 7 pick in the 2023 NBA Draft, according to multiple reports.

ESPN reporter Brian Windhorst floated the idea briefly on his podcast Friday.

“Indiana has been talking with people about the seventh pick,” Windhorst said. “I have been told they have been trying to get wing players. They’ve been trying to move out of the seventh pick to get a high-level wing player now, which frankly, they might be able to if they’re motivated enough.”

Chris Haynes of Bleacher Report had a similar report saying Indiana is in the market for a starting-caliber wing.

In the weeks prior to the June 22 draft, the Pacers have focused on working out a number of wing players. Indiana has five picks (7, 26, 29, 32, 55), so if a trade doesn’t materialize for the seventh pick, a wing player will almost certainly be targeted at some point.

Ausar Thompson of Overtime Elite, Anthony Black of Arkansas and Gradey Dick of Kansas are options at No. 7 if the Pacers keep the pick and want to select a wing.
