How to watch Wizards vs. Warriors originally appeared on NBC Sports Washington
The Washington Wizards are in desperate need of consecutive victories if they want to salvage their chances of making the NBA’s play-in tournament. Having lost four of their last five, the Wizards are in the precarious position of 11th in the Eastern Conference. That means they have neither improved their chances of a postseason berth nor improved their odds of snagging a lottery pick in the draft. Tough times.
Now, Washington will face one of the toughest tests they’ve faced all season as they close out their four-game road trip in the Bay Area to take on the Golden State Warriors. The Wizards have gone 0-3 on the trip thus far, including a loss to the undermanned Portland squad, who have won three straight games after losing six of their previous eight.
Monday’s matchup is huge for a few reasons. Here’s how to watch:

WIZARDS vs WARRIORS WHAT TO WATCH
From NBC Sports Washington’s Chase Hughes:
“The Wizards are looking up at the Atlanta Hawks, who are now three games up holding the final spot in the East for the play-in tournament. If the 32-34 Hawks go .500 the rest of the way (8-8), the 29-37 Wizards would have to go 12-4 to pass them outright. Atlanta could hold the tiebreaker, as they have a 2-1 edge in the season series with one more meeting left on the schedule.” Read more…
“On Saturday, however, Kispert had a much different experience playing in Portland against the Blazers. It’s the closest NBA team to where he grew up in nearby Washington state and he had 35 members of his family and friends travel for the occasion. According to Kispert, most came from the Seattle area. Some arrived from Spokane, others from Yakima, Washington and others from central Oregon. This time, they got to see him play.” Read more…
WIZARDS vs WARRIORS PLAYERS TO WATCH:
Kristaps Porzingis, F/C, Wizards (19.2 ppg, 7.6 rpg, 2.0 apg): Porzingis has been a revelation for the Wizards since acquiring him at the trade deadline, as the ‘unicorn’ has averaged 19.3 points and 6.7 rebounds while shooting over 41% from long range for Washington over three games. He’ll be a focal point of the offense as the team will need to keep pace with the high-octane Warriors.
Klay Thompson, SG, Warriors (17.7 ppg, 4.0 rpg, 3.0 apg): Thompson is finally back to his old self after missing the last two-and-a-half years with ACL injuries. He put up an astonishing 38 points in GSW’s win over the defending champion Bucks on Saturday, so Washington will need to put a hand in Thompson’s face all night to try to contain him.
