One former Tennessee basketball player competed in the NBA playoffs Thursday.

Grant Williams appeared off the bench for Boston in its 128-120 victory over the Hawks at State Farm Arena in Atlanta, Georgia.

Williams, who has played sparingly in the NBA Eastern Conference first-round series, logged 17 minutes for the Celtics in the series clinching win.

He totaled three points, two rebounds, one assist and one steal for the No. 2 seed Celtics, who defeated seventh-seeded Atlanta, 4-2.

Williams was 1-4 from the field and 1-for-2 from beyond the 3-point arc.

The Celtics advance to play No. 3 Philadelphia in the second round. Game No. 1 will be played May 1 at TD Garden in Boston, Massachusetts.

Tipoff is slated for 7:30 p.m. EDT.

The 76ers have two former Vols on roster, including Tobias Harris and Jaden Springer.
