Georges Niang, Sixers ready to help Furkan Korkmaz in altercation

Philadelphia 76ers guard Furkan Korkmaz was at the center of the Philadelphia sports world on Sunday when the veteran got into an altercation during EuroBasket play for his native country of Turkey.

Korkmaz was ejected from the game from a scuffle he got into with Georgia wing Duda Sanadze and then he was followed into the tunnel by Sanadze, Tornike Shengelia, and Goga Bitadze. Korkmaz detailed the altercation as he said punches were thrown as a bit of a fight broke out between them.

Georges Niang is clearly ready to ride with his teammate in this situation. The Man they call “The Minivan” tweeted at Korkmaz and asked if he needed any backup over there.

It’s good to see the chemistry growing within this group. For the Sixers to have any success in the upcoming 2022-23 season, they will need everybody on the same page and playing for one another for the goal of winning a title.
