Fulham are exploring a move for AZ Alkmaar defender Yukinari Sugawara as they weigh up contingency plans for Kenny Tete’s possible departure.
The Cottagers have a firm interest in the Japan international, who is said to be keen on a move to the Premier League club.
An agreement on personal terms is unlikely to be an issue though there is yet to be deal between both clubs.
Right-back Sugawara, 23, is valued at a mimimim £10million by the Eredivise club.
Tete is emerging as a target for Bayern Munich and Fulham are looking at replacements for the Dutchman.

Fulham have also considered Timothy Castagne from Leicester but their interest in Sugawara is more advanced at this moment.
Sugawara has been a regular for the AZ Alkmaar in recent seasons and is viewed as one of the most consistent full-backs in Holland. The defender has five caps for Japan.
