Two former University of Tennessee basketball players competed in the NBA’s Salt Lake City summer league Tuesday as their respective teams went head-to-head on opening day.

Memphis and point guard Kennedy Chandler defeated Philadelphia, 103-99, at Vivint Arena.

Jaden Springer, who played for the Vols in 2020-21, started for the 76ers.

Chandler started and recorded eight points, four rebounds, four assists, four steals and three blocks.

He was 4-for-8 from the floor and 0-for-1 from beyond the 3-point arc.

Springer totaled 15 points, three rebounds, two assists, one steal and one block.

Springer was 4-for-12 from the floor, 0-for-1 in three-point attempts and 7-for-10 from the free throw line.
