Former Michigan State basketball star Max Christie hit a pair of big buckets late to help the Los Angeles Lakers top the Denver Nuggets on Friday.

Christie finished the game with just six points but his two three-point shots in the four quarter helped the Lakers build a lead they’d not surrender. Christie played 16 minutes in the game.

Christie has appeared in 12 games so far in his rookie season with the Lakers. He is averaging 3.3 points per game and is shooting 45.5 percent from three-point range.
