Former Brooklyn Nets assistant coach Igor Kokoskov signed a deal on Friday to join the Atlanta Hawks as part of Quin Snyder’s coaching staff, according to ESPN’s Adrian Wojnarowski. Kokoskov joins the Hawks after being an assistant coach for the Nets for the 2022-23 season.

Before coming to Brooklyn to join then-head coach Steve Nash’s staff, Kokoskov has been an assistant coach in the NBA for all of his career aside from the 2018-19 season when he was the head coach of the Phoenix Suns. Other than Brooklyn and Phoenix, Kokoskov has coached for Los Angeles Clippers, Detroit Pistons, Cleveland Cavaliers, Utah Jazz, Sacramento Kings, and the Dallas Mavericks.

As Wojnarowski notes, Kokoskov and Snyder overlapped from 2015 to 2018 when Kokoskov was the assistant coach for the Jazz and Snyder was the head coach. Kokoskov, 51, looks to help Snyder turn around Atlanta after losing in the first round of the 2023 Eastern Conference playoffs to the Boston Celtics in six games.
