Football managers across Europe have reacted to the potential rebirth of the European Super League after the European Court of Justice ruled that Fifa and Uefa cannot legally block it. The Super League relaunched itself on Thursday with a tweaked three-tier format and the promise of every match being streamed for free. Real Madrid’s manager, Carlo Ancelotti, echoed his club’s support for the project, saying ‘it will be positive for clubs and players’.

The Premier League’s ‘Big Six have all now distanced themselves from the possibility of joining any new European Super League, with Liverpool and Arsenal the latest to denounce the project. ‘If we just do the things [Uefa and Fifa] do, like putting in competitions with more games that nobody has a real say in – what’s going on there?’ said the Liverpool manager, Jürgen Klopp. ‘I like that that they get a bit of a shake. Okay, you cannot exactly do what you want. But no, Super League? Same opinion like I had before.’
