He might not exactly be the next Bo Cruz of the NBA, but Spanish national and Boston Celtics alumnus Juancho Hernangomez managed to help his Spain obliterate the Netherlands National Team 86-64 in EuroBasket World Cup qualifier play on Saturday.
The former Boston swingman put up a respectable 5 points, 4 rebounds, and 2 assist outing for the Spanish National Team as a starter in just under 24 minutes of floor time. Hernangomez turned the ball over twice and picked up as many personal fouls in the course of the game, while shooting 2-of-5 from the field overall, 1-of-3 from beyond the arc, and missing both of his 2 free throw attempts.
The protagonist of “Hustle” might not be quite the star player portrayed in the Netflix film he co-starred with Adam Sandler in, but he is still playing high-level basketball for Spain and hopefully next season in his new home with the Toronto Raptors as well.
