Auburn is reportedly getting an important piece from last year’s front court rotation back. Dylan Cardwell is withdrawing from the NBA draft, according to Jon Rothstein of CBS Sports.

Cardwell was one of the 283 early entrants for the NBA draft. He was always expected to return to Auburn, but the decision allowed him to receive feedback from NBA teams about his game.

He appeared in all 34 of Auburn’s games last year, averaging 11.6 minutes per game. He averaged 3.0 points, 3.0 rebounds, and 1.2 blocks per game as Auburn’s backup center behind Walker Kessler.

Cardwell, who is a fan favorite, is expected to have a similar role in his third season on the Plains. He is slated to be a reserve behind Moorehead State transfer Johni Broome and five-star signee Yohan Traore.
