Draymond has epic staredown with ref after fouling out originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea
Draymond Green did not have a good Game 3 of the 2022 NBA Finals.
After being roundly booed and on the receiving end of a NSFW chant by the Boston Celtics fans, Green finished with two points, four rebounds and three assists in the Warriors’ 116-100 loss at TD Garden on Wednesday night to fall behind two-games-to-one in the Finals.
But at least he might have won a staring contest with referee Courtney Kirkland after fouling out in the fourth quarter. With the Warriors down 12 and following a loose ball scramble in which Green fouled Marcus Smart, Green walked over to Kirkland to argue the call.
Well, mostly arguing but also a little bit of eye-to-eye, nonverbal communication. Green and Kirkland engaged in a staredown in between their conversation. At one point, neither spoke for around 10 seconds.
At the end of it, Green went to the bench with six fouls and Andre Iguodala came in to finish off a deflating Game 3 loss.
