PHILADELPHIA–The Philadelphia 76ers lost one of their starters in Monday’s 123-104 win over the Houston Rockets. PJ Tucker left after only playing seven minutes due to right calf tightness and the Sixers had to make do without their veteran leader.

They were able to cruise to a rather easy win over the Rockets, but losing Tucker is a concern. He does so much for this Sixers team out on the floor as he continues to do all of the little things that lead to winning.

However, coach Doc Rivers isn’t quite concerned with the injury.

“Nothing alarming,” said Rivers. “Just calf got tight. When you hear that word ‘calf’, you stop immediately. He’s fine. He could’ve played, wanted to play, but we said ‘no’.”

In terms of whether this will be a long-term injury for Tucker, Rivers was confident that it wouldn’t be.

“Yeah, for sure,” said Rivers. “That’s not an injury—you don’t play with that.”

The Sixers will look to pick up a win now on Wednesday against the Cleveland Cavaliers in order to go into the All-Star break on a high note.
