To date, Nike has released several special edition Booker-inspired sneakers, such as the Air Force 1 Low, Zoom Kobe 1, and Kobe A.D. Mid. If reports of the D Book 1 turn out to be true, he would join Memphis Grizzlies guard Ja Morant and Boston Celtics forward Jayson Tatum, who recently unveiled their debut signature models with Nike and Jordan Brand, respectively. Last year, Booker signed a long-term extension with Nike that will tie him to the brand through 2029 according to Boardroom.
UPDATE (07/11): Sneaker News has provided a first look at Devin Booker’s upcoming signature sneaker, now confirmed to be named the Book 1. Seen here in black/gold sales sample colorways, the shoe features retro-styled upper paneling reminiscent of Nike Basketball’s output from the 1980s and various material treatments. The throwback aesthetic is carried over to the midsole, while the tongue features a “BOOK” logo and the heel tab is adorned with ’96, a nod to the star’s year of birth.
Despite this first look at the sample version, release details for the Nike Book 1 have not yet been confirmed by the brand, although a report from Sole Retriever indicates the model will release during Holiday 2023 for a retail price of $150.
UPDATE (09/05): After getting a first look at the Book 1 in July, Booker himself has now shared teaser videos of his first signature sneaker on Instagram. One of the videos shows a brief look at the sneaker in a previously unseen orange colorway, which is a nod to his Phoenix Suns squad. As of now, the sneaker is scheduled to hit retailers sometime this holiday season for $150.
