It is July 6 in the NBA ree agency period which means deals can now become official and the ink can dry on new contracts signed around the league.

The Philadelphia 76ers were aggressive from the jump in the free agency signing period as they brought in PJ Tucker on a reported 3-year $33.2 million deal to bring toughness and 3-point shooting to Philadelphia. Tucker spent the 2021-22 season with the Miami Heat, but he has a lot of experience playing with James Harden while with the Houston Rockets.

The Sixers also brought in Danuel House Jr. on a reported 2-year $8.5 million deal. The veteran out of Texas A&M also played with Harden while with the Rockets and he shot 41.5% from deep for the Utah Jazz, his third team of the 2021-22 season, and he can bring a legitimate 3-and-D presence to Philadelphia off the bench.

President Daryl Morey, as he often does whenever the Sixers make a new addition, welcomed the new players to the team on Twitter with a welcome message as well as a YouTube video of what that player can do.

PJ Tucker

“This team is good enough to compete head-to-head with anybody in the league, and I’m going to come in here and do whatever I can to help get us to that next level,” Tucker said via an official press release. “Philly fans demand greatness and it will be up to us to get to where we need to be in order to accomplish our goals. I’m excited to get to work.”

Danuel House Jr.

“Danuel is a very talented two-way player who immediately bolsters our wing depth and strengthens our roster,” Morey said via an official press release. “He is a willing shooter from outside who can space the floor and punish the opposition. On defense, his size, athleticism, and ability to guard multiple positions make him a tough match-up, especially as we plan for a deep playoff run. I’m excited for Danuel’s future in Philadelphia.”
