I just came across these custom sneakers by Stefano Bemer and thought they were really cool. Mainly because most sneakers really just all look the same. But these wholecut beauties by Stefano Bemer are actually quite unique. I have actually known about them for a while and meant to write about them ages ago. Seeing this Made-to-order version in Grey Hippo pushed me over the edge to finally put finger-to-keyboard.
The rolled construction of the facing to maintain that wholecut look of the leather can be a real hit or miss for me. If it is not done tastefully can be too chunky for my liking. That is where Stefano Bemer, known for sleek designs, ensures that the elegance of their dress shoes also translates to their sneakers. And that is what I love about them.
I cannot comment on the fit of these Stefano Bemer sneakers but can comment on the quality. I have handled them and they are very well done. They are a bit on the heavy side as quality materials do weigh and there is nothing shirked in quality on these. But the best feature is that they are customizable via the MTO program. You can see this here in the latest version of them done in this lovely grey hippo.
Stefano Bemer has greater access than most when it comes to different materials and exotic leather. That leaves you with options galore, not only in the dress shoes but also in these custom sneakers. I think that a navy blue hippo would be something to see!
