Once again, star Boston Celtics wing Jaylen Brown was likely seeing his name in trade rumors for a certain star forward who was then still playing for the Brooklyn Nets. And while Kevin Durant has since been dealt to the Phoenix Suns (and out of the Eastern Conference, at that), is it fair to worry whether hearing his name in Durant trade rumors could be enough to become a problem for the Celtics?
By all accounts, Brown has been a consummate professional regarding such trade rumbles in the past. But he has been playing at an All-NBA level many nights on a team with the best record in the league, and eventually, that sort of thing tends to get under one’s skin.
Unless, of course, it doesn’t — but the question of trade rumbles impacting the outlook of Brown is a question that was up for debate on a recent episode of the WEEI radio “Greg Hill” show.
