The Chicago Bulls ended last season in disappointment, as they were eliminated in the Play-In Tournament. And since the all-in moves they made two years ago, the Bulls have only won one playoff game. Chicago’s roster just doesn’t seem good enough to compete with the best of the best in the East.
In turn, many questioned whether or not they could reset the roster this summer. And while the team made it clear they planned on running it back, there have still been some rumblings surrounding the idea that Zach LaVine could be moved. Zach Buckley of Bleacher Report believes that notion.
Buckley wrote an article predicting the “next wave” of NBA stars to request a trade, and he thinks LaVine could be one of them.
“Trade winds swirling around Zach LaVine would be nothing new. His being the one who initiates those talks would be a novel twist, though.
“In June, Yahoo Sports’ Jake Fischer reported the Chicago Bulls were “quietly gauging” LaVine’s trade market. With some knee issues in his past and a boatload of money tethered to his future, he is a logical trade candidate should Chicago ever decide to pull the plug on this core.
“Then again, he might want to force the issue before this front office is ready to make that concession,” Buckley wrote.
Earlier this summer, LaVine stated that he doesn’t think he’ll be traded this offseason, but things can change quickly. And depending on the state of the Bulls roster over the next year, maybe LaVine will get tired of losing.
