Interim Boston Celtics head coach Joe Mazzulla has officially been named the head coach of the Eastern Conference’s “Team Giannis” in the 2023 NBA All-Star Game to be played next month in Salt Lake City, Utah, per the league.
The first-year coach — just the third over the last two dozen All-Star games — will helm the team bearing Antetokounmpo’s name as the head coach of the squad with the best record in the East, earning the right to coach the squad bearing the name of the East’s top vote-getter. Giannis will choose his team playground style live for the first time ever to add a novel dimension to the proceedings.
The game itself will be able to be seen live on Turner Network Television on Sunday, Feb. 19 at 8:30 pm ET, and will be held in Salt Lake City’s Vivint Arena.
