“I was watering my plant and ended up knocking over a glass vase that was next to it,” Brown said. “Picked it up, set it on the ground, realized you probably shouldn’t set glass on the ground. Reached down and picked it back up, and it got me.”

The injury will keep Brown out for the final two games of the regular season, but he expects to be ready come playoff time.

Fortunately for the Celtics, rest is the top priority with the No. 2 seed in the Eastern Conference already locked up. Brown is one of several key players sitting out Friday’s matchup.

The C’s will wrap up their regular season at home against the Atlanta Hawks on Easter Sunday. Their playoff run will begin next weekend.
