It was not all plain sailing for Championship teams against lower-league opposition, though, as Bristol City were beaten 3-1 at home by Lincoln City.

Matty Virtue and Ben House scored inside the opening 15 minutes to put Lincoln in control, and Paudie O’Connor made it three shortly after the interval.
