The Chicago Bulls need to stay active this summer if they hope to get over the hump (again) and get back into the playoffs. They were bounced in the Play-In Tournament this past year, and while a rebuild could help their roster moving forward, they have seemingly decided to run it back with the same core group.

But if that’s their plan, they need to add a ton of help around Zach LaVine, DeMar DeRozan, and Nikola Vucevic. Adding depth at the point guard position is crucial, but so is improving their three-point shooting, as they were one of the worst teams in the league in that category this past season.

According to recent rumblings, the Bulls are actively trying to improve their three-point shooting, as Michael Scotto of HoopsHype reported that they are one of the teams looking to target Philadelphia 76ers forward Georges Niang in free agency.

“Niang is expected to receive free agency interest from the Bulls, 76ers, and Spurs, along with the Cavaliers, league sources told HoopsHype,” Scotto wrote.

The 30-year-old will be entering his eighth NBA season next year and is a great two-way presence at the forward position. He’s an irritant on the defensive side of the ball and knocks down his three-point looks.

In Philadelphia this past year, Niang averaged 8.2 points, 2.4 rebounds, and 1.0 assists per game on 44.2 percent shooting from the field and 40.1 percent shooting from behind the three-point line. He attempted 4.9 three-point shots per contest.

If the Bulls could lure Niang to town, it would be a great get.
