Los Angeles Lakers guard Austin Reaves has made a name for himself in his two seasons in the NBA ever since he came into the league as an undrafted free-agent out of Oklahoma. Reaves has shown that he belongs in the NBA so much so that Brooklyn Nets guard Mikal Bridges had some good things to say about him.
In a recent article by Dan Woike of the Los Angeles Times, Bridges gave his take on what he has seen from Reaves now that he can see him up close and personal as teammates on the 2023 Team USA Basketball team. As Woike writes, Bridges basically said that Reaves can no longer be called an underdog because he has shown that he can play ball.
Bridges and Reaves have been doing their part to get Team USA ready to compete in the FIBA World Cup later in August and hopefully, bring home the gold. Here’s more of what Bridges had to say about Reaves per Woike:
“I’ve been a fan. … I think the biggest thing about him I like is that he knows how to draw a foul. He knows how to create fouls and get to the free-throw line and that’s like a skill. He’s not just getting there. There’s a skill to that and it’s very underrated. People don’t really understand it but the ones that do, they know how tough it is to guard.”
