Goal! Brighton 4-2 Tottenham (Davies)
What an end to this match from Tottenham! Ben Davies pulls another won back with a header at the back-post.
Questions might have to be asked about the goalkeeper, who was nowhere to be seen despite the cross falling side the six-yard box.
GOAL! Brighton 4-1 Tottenham (Veliz)
The youngster pulls one back for Tottenham! It’ll be nothing more than a consolation but you can tell that it’s a big moment for the striker.
He pumps his fists in the air after picking up his first goal for the club.
GOAL! Brighton 4-0 Tottenham (Pedro)
Joao Pedro makes no mistake from the spot and wraps up the win for Brighton. Once again, he sends Vicario the wrong way with a composed finish.
Brilliant stuff from Roberto De Zerbi’s side tonight.
PENALTY TO BRIGHTON
The referee points to the spot after a foul from Giovanni Lo Celso on Evan Ferguson.
PHOTO: Estupinian sends Seagulls flying
What an effort from the full-back on his return from injury.
Both teams make substitutions
James Milner and Danny Welbeck are replaced by Evan Ferguson and Jakub Moder.
Alejo Veliz replaces Brennan Johnson for Spurs.
Tottenham substitutions
Bryan Gil and Giovanni Lo Celso replace Richarlison and Pape Matar Sarr.
GOAL! Brighton 3-0 Tottenham (Estupinian)
What a strike from Pervis Estupinian! It takes something special to beat Vicario from range and that’s exactly what the full-back delivered.
He lets fly from range and watches as his effort finds it’s way into the top corner of the net. No chance for the Spurs keeper.
Richarlison scores… but the flag is up again!
Tonight is just not his night. It’s an excellent finish from the Brazilian after a neat through-ball from Kulusevski but, quite rightly, the linesman has hig flag up.
Replays show that Richarlison had drifted into an offside position.
Brighton substitution
Carlos Baleba replaces Facundo Buonanotte.
Udogie denied by Steele!
Spurs are getting closer here and really should have pulled one back through full-back Udogie.
After linking up with Son, he manages to bundle his way towards goal and smack an effort at goal but Steele is equal to it.
Really good opportunity for the visitors.
Richarlison comes so close!
What a chance for Tottenham to get back into this one. The ball finds the Brazilian inside the box and with time to turn and pick his spot, but his effort flies just wide of the post. Huge opportunity for Spurs.
Moments later, Richarlison has another chance to pull one back for the visitors but is denied by Steele. It was offside anyway.
Richarlison puts the ball in the net… but it’s offside
The Brazilian applies a sharp finish to find the back of the net but the linesman has his flag up. Replays show it was the right call.
Brighton substitution
Brighton have replaced Igor with Pervis Estupinian at the break.
SECOND-HALF: Brighton 2-0 Tottenham
We’re back underway at the Amex.
Tottenham fans were quick to notice the Italian’s shot stopping abilities, brandishing him the ‘best goalkeeper in the league’.
Welbeck himself looked shocked at the save, with fans enjoying his facial expression of complete shock at the marvellous stop.

HALF-TIME: Brighton 2-0 Tottenham
What a first-half of football from the Seagulls. They’ve been rampant on the attack and deserved their lead at the break.
Hinshelwood found the back of the net with a tremendous strike early on before Joao Pedro doubled their advantage from the penalty spot.
No doubt that Ange Postecoglou will have some strong words for his side at half-time after a relatively underwhelming performance.
They’ve looked vulnerable every time Brighton come forward and could certainly fall victim to more goals in this one.
Son tries to find the far post
It’s better from Spurs in the final moments but not enough. Son tries to curl an effort into the far corner but doesn’t get enough bend on it.
Richarlison hits the post!
Spurs come so close to pulling one back through Richarlison! They break through Johnson who does well to find the Brazilian, who’s effort strikes the post and goes behind.
Vicario denies Joao Pedro!
What a chance for the Seagulls striker. It’s a calamity at the back from Spurs to set Joao Pedro through on goal.
He tries to chip Vicario but the Tottenham goalkeeper does enough to tip it round for a corner.
Postecoglou’s side are struggling
The visitors have hardly created a clear-cut opportunity during the first-half and looked pretty vulnerable every time Brighton come forward.
Will we see the Australian make some changes at the break?
Buonanotte scores but it’s offside!
What a goal that would’ve been! The youngster provides a superb half-volley finish to put the ball into the top corner but the linesman, correctly, puts his flag up for offside.
You get the feeling that Brighton are going to add a third very soon.
Brighton break but can’t make it count
Another good opportunity for the hosts as Brighton catch Spurs on the break.
The ball finds Welbeck out wide, in a 2v2 situation, but the forward can’t pick out Joao Pedro on the other side and the visitors are able to clear.
Milner strikes the post from range!
What an effort from the veteran! Milner skipped inside and had a go from range before watching it cannon off the post. So unlucky for the Seagulls.
They look like scoring everytime they come forward at the moment.
Johnson fizzes a ball across the six-yard box
Postecoglou’s side need a response and they very nearly found one after Johnson fired a ball across the box, but it was just too far for Richarlison.
GOAL! Brighton 2-0 Tottenham (Pedro)
Brighton’s number nine gives them a two-goal advantage from the penalty spot! It looked like there was no doubt in his mind as he sent Vicario the wrong way.
It’s looking like a long way back for Ange Postecoglou’s side now.
PENALTY TO BRIGHTON
The hosts have a penalty after Kulusevski pulled down Welbeck inside the box.
Really foolish from the Swede, who is booked for the incident, after he simply wouldn’t let go of the Seagulls striker’s shirt.
Van Hecke hits the post!
The Dutch centre-back rises highest at a corner before crashing a header against the post. Then there’s a goal-mouth scramble and huge appeals for a penalty from the Seagulls players.
No doubt VAR will check it…
Pedro fires an effort at goal
The hosts are on the hunt for another one here and Joao Pedro nearly does so after rifling an effort at goal.
Vicario is able to deny him but can’t hold on it. Had there been someone in blue and white waiting, it could’ve been two.
GOAL! Brighton 1-0 Tottenham (Hinshelwood)
What a strike from Jack Hinshelwood! The 18-year-old full-back puts the finishing touches on a brilliant Brighton move and gives Vicario absolutely no chance.
It was sensational build-up play from Joao Pedro to set up the youngster for the opener. Perfect start for De Zerbi’s side.
What a save from Vicario!
Two HUGE chances for the Seagulls. The hosts catch Tottenham on the break and, after some neat exchanges, Welbeck fires an effort at goal which Vicario does well to palm away.
Spurs fail to clear the lines and the ball comes back into Welbeck who smashes the ball at goal but Vicario somehow reacts in time to save it again. Brilliant from the Italian.
Strong start from Tottenham
Sharp play from the visitors in the opening minutes, as Johnson is brought down just outside the Brighton penalty area.
Porro steps up and whips an effort at goal but it hits the wall and deflects away.
KICK-OFF
We’re underway at the Amex!
Moments away from kick-off…
The players are making their way out, the music is blaring and the fans are singing. The atmosphere is set for a fantastic Premier League fixture.
Postecoglou previews tonight’s clash
Tottenham manager Ange Postecoglou speaking to Amazon Prime Video:
‘We had the day off [for Christmas] which is pretty rare. We let the boys have time with the family. I was on my own and my family went away and forgot about me, but it was nice!
‘It’s always a tricky period. You have a lot of games and we have a well-chronicled injury list – as do Brighton.”
Less than ten minutes until kick-off…
The (injury-struck) visitors are ready to go here at the Amex.
De Zerbi: ‘We will try to win the game’
Big words from the Brighton manager pre-match. The Seagulls have won just one of their last five meetings with the north London side.
Warm-ups are underway…
Less than half an hour to go until kick-off here at the Amex…
Brighton’s injury crisis has deepened, with wingers Kaoru Mitoma and Simon Adingra ruled out until February.
Both players suffered problems in the Seagulls’ 1-1 draw at Crystal Palace last week, Mitoma on his ankle and Adingra a hamstring strain. And manager Roberto De Zerbi is now without up to 10 players as Brighton welcome Tottenham to the Amex tonight.
‘We have 10 injured players, maybe eight but (the other) two players can’t start the game,’ he said.
Tottenham icon Hugo Lloris is in talks with Los Angeles FC as the curtain closes on his 11-year stay in north London.
The goalkeeper has spent the first half of the season on the peripheries of the senior squad with Guglielmo Vicario and Fraser Forster recognised as head coach Ange Postecoglou No 1 and No 2 goalkeepers, respectively.
And Lloris’ is now set to leave Spurs with discussions over a switch to MLS side LAFC understood to be in its final stages.

Can Postecoglou’s side extend their three-match win streak in the league tonight?
TEAM NEWS: Brighton vs Tottenham
Brighton XI: Steele, Hinshelwood, Van Hecke, Dunk, Igor Julio, Milner, Gilmour, Gross, Buonanotte, Welbeck, Pedro

Can the Seagulls get back to winning ways tonight?
Roberto De Zerbi’s side are without a win in their last three Premier League outings. Will that change this evening?
Confirmation that Cristian Romero will require up to five weeks to recover from a hamstring strain has sent a tremor through Tottenham’s mid-winter schedule.
Spurs have been depleted for weeks and international tournaments will take Son Heung-min, Pape Matar Sarr and Yves Bissouma from manager Ange Postecoglou next month.
Romero, with his mobility, aggression and experience in the heart of the defence, is one of those players for whom they have no like-for-like replacement.

Tonight’s tale of the tape…
It’s fair to say that both sides are coming into this one with a weakened squad – with injuries beginning to mount up in both squads.
For Brighton, they’re without Kauro Mitoma and Simon Adringa until February while Spurs’ Cristian Romero is the latest in a long-list of absentees.
The Seagulls currently sit ninth but can rise as high as seventh if they manage to find victory over Ange Postecoglou’s side.
Tottenham, on the other hand, can overtake Aston Villa and land themselves in third place if they can secure a win down in Sussex.
