Whenever the Boston Celtics end up playing the Los Angeles Lakers, you can bet that the level of play will be high — even if it is a relatively meaningless exhibition contest in the NBA’s 2023 Las Vegas Summer League. That was the case late on Wednesday night as the Sin City Celtics dispatched the Summer Lakers 95-90 with a dramatic late dunk from the Celtics’ No. 38 pick of the 2023 NBA draft, Jordan Walsh.

The comeback win was a surprising one given that the Lakers were in control for the first two-thirds of the tilt as the Celtics shot just 25.8% from deep and just 41.2% overall. But L.A. shot worse from the field (38.7%), and Boston won the rebounding battle 52-39, securing the win on a Walsh flush in the game’s waning seconds.
