Ben Chilwell made fun of Moises Caicedo after the Chelsea new boy looked rather timid entering the Blues’ ice bath.

In a video posted on his Instagram story, Chilwell trained the camera on the 21-year-old as he stood up shivering in the chilly recovery pool.

The Ecuador international had a smile plastered across his face but covered some of it with a towel and did not dare to sink any lower – at least not in the brief clip we saw.

Caicedo swapped Brighton for Stamford Bridge on Monday in a blockbuster British transfer record £115million move following a transfer drama worthy of the big screen.

A ruptured cruciate ligament saw him ruled out for the majority of the 2021/22 season but he made a comeback last season – albeit with mixed form – and he was impactful in Chelsea’s 2-2 draw with Liverpool on Sunday, playing an advanced left wing-back role.

Chelsea’s next fixture, where Caicedo could make his Blues bow, is at West Ham on August 20.
