The Boston Celtics seem to be putting pressure on star forwards Jayson Tatum and Jaylen Brown to become leaders now that veteran point guard Marcus Smart has left the team via trade. It is a crucial season for Tatum and Brown to prove themselves as leaders and (hopefully) guide the team to a championship.
Sacrifices are often necessary for the greater good of the team if a ball club hopes to compete at the highest levels, as has been seen in past Celtics championship-winning teams. The Celtics are making moves to reshape their organization after the Flower Mound native’s exit, including hiring experienced assistant coaches and bringing on depth options to strengthen their roster — but also ones that point to a new role for the star pair.
