Just when Anthony Davis was playing arguably the best sustained basketball of his career, the injury bug hit him yet again.
He suffered a foot injury in Friday’s win over the Denver Nuggets when his right foot got tangled up with Nikola Jokic’s leg in mid-air. He continued to play in the first half, but he was ruled out for the second half.
As a result, Davis is expected to miss at least a month of action.
This is a huge blow to a Lakers team that had been playing better since starting 2-10. They’ve won 10 of their last 16 games and are playing much better offensively than they were in October and early November.
This injury will be a huge test of the Lakers’ depth and willpower, as Davis had been arguably the best player in the NBA over the past month or so.
