Warriors offer Wiggins injury update ahead of clash vs. 76ers originally appeared on NBC Sports Bayarea
Andrew Wiggins’ much-needed return to the court could come soon, the Warriors announced Thursday.
The forward has missed Golden State’s last five games with a right adductor strain and was re-evaluated Thursday in Philadelphia.
Following the evaluation. Wiggins was cleared to participate in Warriors practices and shootarounds, though his return to play “will be determined by his continued progress,” the organization said.
Wiggins has been ruled out for the Warriors’ upcoming Friday game against the Philadelphia 76ers, while fellow starter Draymond Green is questionable with a right quadriceps contusion.
Golden State will need all the help it can get on the floor with star point guard Steph Curry suffering a left shoulder subluxation against the Indiana Pacers on Wednesday night, an MRI on Thursday confirmed.
The Warriors said in Curry’s injury update that the team will provide a timeline for the 34-year-old’s return in the coming days, though The Athletic’s Shams Charania on Thursday cited sources in reporting that the reigning NBA Finals MVP will miss at least two weeks.
That being said, Curry also is listed as out for Friday’s game.

As the Warriors look to rebound from their Wednesday night loss to the Pacers, doing so without three starters certainly would be less than ideal.
