Manchester United forward Amad Diallo has appeared to squash rumours that he could be set to leave the club on loan.

Diallo has spent this season back with the Red Devils following a successful temporary stay with Sunderland last season, which saw the Black Cuts finish inside the play-off places.

He has been used sparingly by Erik ten Hag despite the rave reviews around his abilities and criticism of Antony’s performances on the right of attack, where Diallo would normally play.

The 21-year-old has also had to deal with an injury which has kept him out for large chunks of the campaign, returning to action in his side’s 2-1 defeat against Nottingham Forest towards the end of the year.

He has taken to social media recently to let fans know he wouldn’t be moving back to England’s second division, with a report suggesting that he could be on his way to Birmingham, Leicester or potentially returning to Sunderland.

‘Stop lying mate.!’ Diallo replied to a United news page sharing the report, suggesting that he will be staying put at Old Trafford.

The page issued an apology in response, claiming they ‘would love to see you play and tear it up now that you’ve recovered from injury’.

Diallo has made 10 appearances for United in his career, scoring one goal, and burst onto the scene at Sunderland, where he scored 14 goals in 42 games.

He has also spent time on loan at Rangers in his career, in the second half of the 2021-22 season, scoring three times in 13 outings.

He joined United from Italian side Atalanta in January 2021 for £19million.
