While it might not feel like it, as the silhouette rarely sees the light of day, the Air Jordan 7 is currently celebrating its 30th anniversary. And to commemorate the occasion, the brand is dressing the shoe up in a brand new “Sapphire” colorway, which ostensibly pays homage to the beloved ACG line-up.
In many ways, the pair mirrors its outdoor-made counterparts, as the construction swaps out some of its leathers for translucent mesh inserts. The more robust material does, however, reinforce the rest of the upper, doing so in a light tan shade that’s not unlike what’s found on All Conditions Gear. Further nods to the latter arrive by way of the midsole, whose grey finish features a familiar speckling. Additionally, the hits of pink and blue found across the tongue, heel, and adjacent internals are unquestionably a part of the homage, as the combination has been used on previous ACG offerings.
