Atop the list of most requested Air Jordan sneaker releases is, without a doubt, the Air Jordan 1 “Chicago”. It’s significance immeasurable and its style simply iconic, the Chicago 1s have been the posterboy of the global Air Jordan 1 movement, and its demand has fueled sales for the more accessible Mids and Lows. It was only a matter of time before Jordan 1 Chicagos would return to stores, and this October, Jordan Brand has plans of bringing the famed color-blocking back to retail, but with some twists.
As part of the Air Jordan 1 “Reimagined” collection, in which the brand offers up the most classic Jordan 1s with some modifications, the Chicago 1s will be hitting retail with a distinct vintage treated look. The white leather, laces, and sole portions will come pre-yellowed to give off that decades-old aesthetic. According to this first look provided by @ayostfuson on Twitter, the interior lining has been swapped from the original black to an updated red. This will likely bother and possibly infuriate Jordan fanatics, but remember – these are not to be considered a true reissue off the sneaker.
