A look at former Vols competing in NBA’s summer leagues

The NBA’s summer season is underway and seven former University of Tennessee basketball players will compete in two of the three leagues.

The summer season tipped off July 2 with the California Classic in San Francisco, California. The California Classic concludes July 5 and Tennessee does not have any former players competing.

The Salt Lake City summer league begins Tuesday and will feature Memphis, Oklahoma City, Philadelphia and host Utah.

Salt Lake City’s opening day schedule includes a doubleheader at Vivint Arena.

Memphis will play Philadelphia at 7 p.m. EDT, featuring former Vols Kennedy Chandler (Memphis) and Jaden Springer (Philadelphia).

Utah will play Oklahoma City at 9 p.m. EDT. The Salt Lake City summer league concludes July 7.

The Las Vegas summer league takes place July 7-17 with all 30 NBA teams competing.

Seven Vols, including Chandler and Springer, are expected to compete in Las Vegas, Nevada.

Other former Tennessee players slated to compete in Las Vegas include Jordan Bone (Boston), Kyle Alexander (Portland), Keon Johnson (Portland), Admiral Schofield (Orlando) and Memphis’ Yves Pons will play for Brooklyn.
