Sixers guard De’Anthony Melton shines in Drew League playoff game

With training camp in the NBA getting set to begin at the end of September, now is the time for players around the league to continue getting their final workouts in to be sure they are ready for the 2022-23 season.

New Philadelphia 76ers guard De’Anthony Melton, acquired in a draft night trade from the Memphis Grizzlies, has been participating in the Drew League. On Saturday, Melton had a playoff game and the 4-year veteran out of USC went to work on the floor.

Melton had 26 points, six rebounds, five assists, and three steals in a big performance on the floor. He continues to show off a needed athleticism to Philadelphia’s roster that they will certainly welcome.

Melton averaged 10.8 points and 4.5 rebounds while shooting 37.4% from deep in the 2021-22 season with the Grizzlies. He is going to be able to bring two-way ability to the floor while also being able to bring an athleticism to the bench unit that they desperately need for the Sixers to succeed.
