After planning for his return for Game 4, the Nets have announced that Ben Simmons will not play after suffering a setback.

Simmons has been dealing with back issues for several weeks, and the Nets have continued to push back his debut.

SNY NBA Insider Ian Begley reported that SImmons was on track for Game 4 barring a setback – that’s exactly what happened. Simmons told the Nets he awoke with back soreness on Sunday, according to ESPN.

The Nets are currently down 3-0 in their first round series against the Boston Celtics. Simmons has not yet played this season.
