While the field might have a better chance overall than the two teams who slugged it out in TD Garden on Sunday afternoon do of representing the NBA’s Eastern Conference in the 2022 NBA Finals, the 126 – 120 victory for the Celtics felt as close to an East Finals matchup as you’ll likely get in the regular season.
This of course got analysts pontificating about the potential each team could have to end up in the coming NBA Finals, with former Boston big man and current NBA broadcaster Kendrick Perkins of ESPN coming out hard in favor of the team he won a title with in 2008 in a discussion with his co-host of the popular “First Take” show on the Bristol, Connecticut network.
Which team do you think is more likely to make it out of the scrum of contenders and quasi contenders who will separate themselves by making the 2022 NBA Playoffs — the Brooklyn Nets, or Boston Celtics?
Watch the video embedded above to hear Smith’s response to Perkins’ support for the Celtics, and see where you fall between their two perspectives.
